Featured:Girl in the Lens

As I promised I will try and keep my blog posts coming as well as my articles for Mixities. It is quite busy right now but I won't complain anymore and introduce you to the lovely Natasha, owner of Girl in the Lens ,a beautiful place for fashion inspiration, ideas and behind the scenes of press days for various brands.
Enjoy our  little chat and get to know her sweet personality and unique style.

Hi,Natasha, tell us something about yourself and what made you start blogging?

Hi! I'm a writer and social media freelancer. Last year, I was working at a social media agency, and everyone there had blogs, so I thought I should get start one too. Plus, I love reading blogs and was inspired by the fashion blogs I follow to create my own. I had no idea how large a part of my life it would become though!

Is it difficult to manage your time and how much time blogging actually takes you?

It’s definitely time-consuming. I work two days a week in London doing social media, and the rest of my time I split between my writing duties and blogging. Blogging is one of those things that you’ll get out as much as you put in, so I do invest quite a bit of time into it. Probably two hours a day at least. With social media accounts to look after like Twitter, it’s often a lot more!

Just a cold winter day with a sheep on my top

I stopped counting the very cold and rainy winter days, realising it's pointless here in London.
Instead I decided to make an outfit, I would like to wear for one of those extremely cold days and I am really close to buying it.
It is super comfortable and just the right colours matching my mood recently.

Jacket:Choies//Jeans: Marc Jacobs//Top:Old Navy//Bag:BCBGMAXAZRIA//Boots: Sammydress

I hope you liked my outfit suggestion and you are enjoying the spirit of the upcoming holidays :)

The 10 Cliche Tasks of My London Christmas List

Planning your Christmas abroad is not much of a fun, there is no family dinner,no hanging out with old friends gathered from around the world home for the holidays...I kind of miss that!
The more I think about the holidays the sadder I get(usually it's the other way round) but instead of pitting myself I decided it's time to make a list of Christmas tasks I want to do here in London.

The 10 Cliche Tasks of My London Christmas List

1.Go to Covent Garden and visit the Christmas market.
2.Drink the most festive Christmassy hot drink Starbucks or Costa have to offer.
3.Go and see Wicked musical(obviously not on Broadway but it is still going to be great!)
4.Decorate a Christmas tree and make my room my festive.
5.Go to London Eye and see London from above with all the lights turned on.
6.Exchange a book in Carnaby...such an amazing project where you are able to leave a book you have read and get one for free.
7.Drink hot chocolate in Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park.
8.Visit the "Holywood costume" exhibition in Victoria and Albert Museum, which explores the central role costume design plays in storytelling.
9.Listen to Christmas music everywhere and enjoy being able to spend it here in London.)Because next year I will buy tickets for Bulgaria at least 5 months in advance!)
10.Invent a new Christmas cocktail.

That's pretty much how me and my boyfriend will spend this holiday season.Let me know about your plans,I bet they will be a lot better than mine!

Featured: Stylishlyme

I always admire individuals that are so passionate about their work that it is inspiring. That is the reason for this interview with Vanessa from Stylishlyme. She is a determined young woman, who is not just interested in fashion, her stylish blog gathers her travelling experiences, interviews, fashion events and more...

What made you start your blog and how can you describe it in three words?

I started blogging as an outlet for my passion and creativity. My primary University studies focused on business and economics so a blog offered something different that is fun and my own. Passionate, Creative and Honest.

What are you outside of blogging?

Outside of blogging I'm partner and COO of a digital media agency that works with businesses and individuals from Los Angeles to San Francisco. I work closely with business in developing, designing, creating and maintaining their brand identity on and offline.

What have you found to be the best way to network and get your blog out there?

I have found that the best way to get your blog out there is leaving your blog and connecting with other bloggers. Such as emailing blogs you read and introducing your blog, or leaving meaningful comments on the blog posts you like.

What blogs/bloggers inspire you?

The bloggers that inspire me are Sandra Hagelstam from 5 inch and up, Nicole Warne from Gary Pepper and Andy Torres from StyleScrapbook. Each of these three blogs have very different styles and they all found a way to show their true personality through their blog and share it with individuals from around the world. Plus, they have very beautiful blogs.

Tattoo me with a feather!

Have you wondered whether to get a tattoo or not?I bet most girls have considered the possibility of marking their bodies with something beautiful like a butterfly,a fairy or a feather at least once in their life.
Well at least I have considered it...more than once. But I still don't have the guts to just close my eyes and do it.I don't thin it's something to be afraid of,I just feel like it is personal and it shouldn't be a random drawing that you just pick at the studio. Doing it just for the sake of it is wrong and immature. Because it's a form of art that will stay with you, probably till the rest of your life,so think about it before jumping to the tattoist chair.
If I ever feel the urge and the motivation I need to get one,I will do it and I won't think twice...but just for now let's have a look at some pretty good pieces of art.

Do you have a tattoo? And does it have a secret meaning or it's something you really like?

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Christmas time is upon us...brace yourselves! The decoration is up,the sales are coming, the weather is getting colder and colder and all I need is a cup of hot chocolate, some pillows around me and my laptop so I can share with you some preparation for my Christmas.

Unfortunately, this year I won't be going home for the holidays, the tickets are really expensive and I need to stay in London working but I still have my wonderful boyfriend here with me,so we will try to make the most of it!And I will keep you updated with all the wonderful decoration here-Covent Gardern and Oxord street look amazing!

The earier you start shopping, the better!I found myself eager to get the best Christmas deals and sales, but believe me,focus on your favourite brands and stores otherwise you will get completely lost calculating and looking new websites or stores.Let's be honest there are a lot of wonderful things everywhere you you can't buy everything....unfortunately!So for my first stop of the Christmas shopping I chose Modcloth and more specifically some of their vintage-inspired clothing and unique accessories! ModCloth doesn't only have clothing, however, they also have the cutest, retro home decorations like owl Christmas lamps, picture frames and pillows.
I've already ordered the earrings and the scarf, the other items are some of my suggestions for you :)

The wall hooks look very cute and I can only imagine how great they will suit my room, the bag I chose because I like flower print clothes and accessories, the jacket is deffinitely something I'd love to wear, but right now I'm on a tight budget, you all know how it is around the holidays.Ordering the scarf and the earrings was a tought choice, because there are so many wonderful things to chose from...
Let me know what do you think about my little shopping list and I will keep you updated with wonderful pictures from London :)

~Let the Christmas mood surround you!

Featured:Divine World of Fashion

No matter how often I browse through her blog,it always inspires me and brings something different and challenging in terms of fashion and style ideas. Her versatile wardrobe is a magical place where you can gather tips and tricks how to combine all kinds of clothing pieces and accessories. She is Branislava, 25 years old journalist and fashion blogger from Serbia, the owner of Divine World of Fashion.

Let's start by hearing a little more about Branislava?Tell me something about yourself.

I graduated from the Faculty of Political Science, journalism department and I'm living in Belgrade, capital of Serbia, with my family. I really like my job, and since I can remember  I wanted to be a journalist. My second love is the love for all forms of art. Fashion is part of that. For me, fashion is not something casual, but very important part of my life through which I express myself.

How long have you been blogging and what made you start?

I have been blogging for two years (on the 12th of October I celebrated the second birthday of my Divine World). It all started so spontaneously. I graduated from my college, so I had a little more time for some other interests of mine. And then I decided to start building my own Divine World. After so many hours spent following other bloggers, I decided to start my own online adventure. And I must say: that was one of the best moves in my life. I finally found the way to share my love for fashion with people of similar interests and  to make an attempt at something new, interesting, creative. And my blog is always a great exercise in writing.

The festive season is upon us!

Thanksgiving season is upon us!Even though I've never celebrated it,I still like the idea of " be thankful" for everything. We have a similar holiday in my country but is not that popular among people.
Although I do appreciate a good thanksgiving meal, the other positive feature of the festive season is ...sales and discounts! Can I hear some enthusiastic people around here?
Everyone gets excited when it comes the time to buy something new and somehow "reward" themselves after a long month of working hard.
Well,at least that's the case with me! :) I stumbled upon some great discounts and sales that you can take advantage of and here is my first post about the so called "Cyber Monday" sales, which is a completely new term to me but I like the sound of it!

Featured: Miss Beatrix

A couple of weeks ago I stumbled upon a very girly and pretty blog called Miss Beatrix.I was immediately intrigued by it since I am keen on everthing cute and beautiful but also rock'n'roll!
Purple, pink, white and flowers... all perfectly combined in layout and special buttons without being too colourful. While browsing it I realised that I really wanted to feature her in my blog and thankfully she agreed. Her real name is Bernadeth,a collage student, a part-time blogger and photographer, who has a sight obsession with Korean stuff, dresses and skirts.

You are always sweet and smiling, tell us something about yourself and what makes you happy?
I'm Bernadeth G., a full time Tourism student and a part time fashion blogger.. sometimes also a photographer from the Philippines. Apparently, I am one of those girls who can't do a fierce or hot pose since it doesn't look good on me (haha!) and maybe the reason why is because I think, the simple things in life makes me happy... just like, if I wear something that I truly like, I feel like I'm always in a good mood.

Why do you initially decided to start a blog?
I started having a personal blog at the age of 14 and at that time, it was just stories of my everyday life --- very random, I must say but because I just don't have enough time to update I stopped and eventually got engage with photography. From then on, I started to experiment not only when it comes to photos but also in my style and then I realized, maybe I should share this to people? And so, I started my blog.

Describe your personal style in your own words.
I guess it would be Hannah Montana meets the real Miley Cyrus vibe! Girly but still a rock n' roll chick ;)

Do you find inspiration for your wardrobe from not so typical places?
Yes, totally! Sometimes, before heading out to have a family dinner or get together with friends... I would search for images of the place we are going and I would plan my outfit a day before and then, I would just imagine what should I wear to fit the theme or design of the restaurant. (Just like this post)

Beware!Adorable cushions everywhere!

My home interior inspiration is growing and growing everyday! After planning the Christmas decoration I explored the unknown territory of cosy living rooms with pastel colours and soft furniture.I found out that cushions are every girl's best friend when it comes to decoration. They are comfortable, always easy to DIY or just find some really unique ones online.
Here I have gathered my selection of cushions for the season.

Next offers a great variety of small comfy cushions this season in various colours, but I mainly prefer the purple and the white ones as you can see from my selection. It's always fun to see that pop of colour when you enter a living room especially around the Christmas season so the Velvet Stripe Mauve Cushion is perfect for that case. The Round Ruchet Cream Cushion gives you comfort and that extra special touch to your home.Imagine a cold winter Sunday afternoon reading your favourite book, sitting on your sofa, surrounded by lovely warm and soft cushions, drinking your favourite tea.Mmm...that picture in my mind is pure perfection!

If you want to make your home fun and unique you can choose from those DIY cushions or you can design it yourself!
You know there is no better place than Etsy for that purpose-the owl cushion, the hand-embroided,the angel wings and the ocean calls me home ones are all hand made gorgeous!

Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post!I genuinly do like all the items in this post and be sure that I won't make a publications with products/items/clothes I don't like!: )

Thanks for reading!I appreciate all your lovely comments!

The other side of the world...to me

I've got a few questions about the origin of my blog's name and here is the time to tell you why I named it The Other Side of The World.
Have you heard KT Tunstall's song with the same name?Well now you know :) This song is very special to me and it's connected with a lot of memories of that particular time of my life I will always remember. For those who haven't heard it,here it is:

It's every girl's guilty pleasure to always make lists of the things she wants to buy.It can be anything  from beauty products to an ordinary grocery store stuff and I am no exception.
Some may say it's materialistic but I think it's a hobby and everyone is free to be interested in various things... from film and fashion to art, music and politics and no one has the right to judge you based strictly on your free time hobby. To continue proving my point I made my current wish list...again!I know I make a lot of them lately but being a freelancer sometimes means having more free tme.

1.Trench coat-I liked this beautiful two colour trench coat because it's adorable and girly, you can wear it with a skirt, leggings or jeans.
2.You Mustache be Kidding necklace from ModCloth  is the perfect accessory for a plain and light sweater or a nice flowy summer dress.
3.Elysse Flats-amazing black ballerina flats!I adore two coloured flats and these look perfect plus there is a discount now that is too tempting to resist!
4.Wrap-sody in Brown Watch because I've always liked leather wrap watches and this one looks perfect for the season.
5.Pink Hearts Sweater- I missed it... unfortunately it's sold out :(
6.Cat's Ears Knitted Hat-my obsession with animal hats is obvious from the previous wish lists, why brake the tradition?

Thank you for reading and stopping by! :)

Mint colour inspiration

From fashion pieces to home interior ideas and accessories, mint is a light colour that can generally make you happy.Even though it is almost winter here in London,on the other side of the world is a bright and sunny almost summer(I so envy you!).
I believe I am born to live in a country with an endless summer...who knows, maybe someday I will spend most of my time somewhere really warm.Until then I still need to find my inspiration in those pretty little everyday things that can cheer me up and distract me from the rain, the fog and the gloomy sky.

 Happy summer,friends from distant countries!

Don't forget to check my new facebok page- The Other Side of The World, where I will post some extra inspirations and finds of mine and you will always be up to date with what is happening on my blog! Thanks for reading!

On the road!

Ever since I realised there is such thing as "a road trip" I wanted to make one and always admired people who were making plans for going on a journey like that.It is so adventurous and exciting to just get into your car with a couple of friends and travel around the country or maybe the continent. When I read Jack Kerouak's book "On the road" everything seemed so careless and free, young people exploring abilities, testing their will and facing temptations. I hope one day I will be able to travel more, meet new people and discover different cultures.
For those of you who are planning a trip soon, here is my set for that purpose.Depending on when you are going you'll probably need a warm cardigan, but since more of the road trips are set in the summer you can be fine without it.The tote and the shoes are my favouite items in this set,I tried to   combine comfortable clothes, because when you spend part of the day driving all you need is more comfort!

It's never too early for a Christmas decoration

As a big Christmas enthusiast, every year I start my preparation early, maybe a month and a half before,I plan the decoration of my flat and if I want to DIY something I gather the necessary pieces and materials. It's always more fun if you have enough time to make your family and friends feel the Christmas spirit around the holidays. I can almost hear the songs and smell my mother's delicious cooking!

I've gathered some nice ideas to keep your inspiration going until Christmas.

Things that inspire me: The Northern Lights

You may probably know from my "About" section that one of my dreams is to see the Northern Lights. The closest I was to seeing them was in March while I was studying in Glasgow, the forecast said that there is a huge posibily of seeing them over the night.I spend so much time of my evening just looking at the sky and waiting for just a glimpse of them...but I didn't see a thing.
I was disappointed but I know that I will get the chance to go somewhere north one day ...Norway or Iceland and I will get to see them dancing in the sky.

I don't know how I got so excited about the Northern Lights.I saw a documentary on BBC,I think it was called Joanna Lumley in the Land of the Northern Lights a few years ago and then I kept looking for more information and pictures and maybe that's how it started. For me it's like a fairy tale, something so magical and enigmatical and so beautifully inexplicable that can't be properly described. One can just stare and enjoy it without saying a word...that's exactly what I am planning to do once I see them-just stand there bewitched while all my fantasies and dreams come together.
And then for sure I will have my own pictures, but until then I can't keep my eyes off of these.

Featured: Catwalk to casual

First I want to thank all of you who send me e-mails suggesting fashion bloggers for my Featured column.I will try to fulfil all of your requests collaborating them with mine.
Today here you will find my Q&A with the lovely owner of Catwalk to casual Nesrin Bozlak, who is a young Fashion Design student from The Netherlands.Take a cup of tea in the cold autumn evening and enter her world as she contemplates on her dreams, her blogger experience and student life.

Hello,Nesrin!Tell me more about yourself and how you started blogging?

Hello,my name is Nesrin Bozlak, I'm a 19 years old 'Fashion Design' student from Holland. My origin is Turkish but I was born and raised in Holland. I've been following lots of fashion bloggers for a long time. Which made me decided to have my own space where I can share my interests. I've opened my blog two years ago but I had never posted anything. Buying myself a camera was the right time to start blogging.

Where did your entrance into the fashion world really begin?

I decided to study Fashion Design 4 years ago, which totally changed my whole idea about the future. It isn't actually the fashion world, but I think that it's a good start.

How would you describe your personal style?

My personal style... Well, I've to say that I like lots of different things. I can't say that I'm totally in the chicness or that I'm totally in the black style. It depends on how I'm feeling in the morning, where I'm going, with who I am, the weather etc. you know.. This is a question which I can not answer correctly. I love to wear very comfortable clothes with an extra touch, in a feminine way. I think people never should force themselves because of a trend, you have to feel comfortable, confident, strong, pretty, but as a woman also feminine. That's very important to me. I love the oversized and boyfriend look but if I don't feel feminine I feel totally insecure. One day I'm in a black outfit and the other day I'm wearing skirts or red. I guess that's how I would describe my style.

Earrings lover!

Earrings!!! For me it's the ultimate feminine accessory that is the perfect completion of an outfit.
It doesn't matter if it's an everyday one, business casual or an evening outfit,it is the perfect way to finish it and add something extra special to it.
To be honest I have a large collection of earrings,I get a pair almost every time I am out shopping,it's just a passion that I can't control(or at least I don't want to). Some of them are really cheap ones, other are hand made, some are gifts from friends...but I love every single pair!

Here are two of my recent purchases.I got them from a special store in my hometown of Plovdiv,Bulgaria.

And here is my recent earrings wish list!

1.House of Harlow-I am loving the brand recently, not only the accessories but the clothing as well!
2.Bird earrings- extremely cute and girly!
3.Inpink silver toned triangle cascade earrings- Inpink is one of my newest obsessions for accessories! They've got tons of amazing stuff and it is perfect for my tight budget!
4.Leaf Modcloth- It's never too late to have a nice pair of leaf earrings!
